Yes. Yes indeed that's Knuckles new design. All for the upcoming Sonic series for both the video game and TV series entitled, Sonic Boom. The TV series will be hosted by Cartoon Network; running from Fall 2014 to Summer 2015 - one season only (for now as announced). The video game version will be developed by TheBigRedButton Entertainment for the Wii U version, and the producer of Sly Cooper: Thieves of Time will develop the 3DS version. It will be the 3rd and last Sonic game to be exclusive to the Nintendo platform, as part of the Nintendo and Sega Partnership. After that, we'll be seeing the next Sonic game on PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U in 2015.
What was everyone's reaction to the newly design? Well, let's just say, people at first were bizarre, outraged, and ragequitted; mostly on Knuckles' design. When you compare the old and new, you could understand. Seems to me that Sega went all-out with 100 concepts and they ended up with that. Sonic characters with straps on their hands and legs. Kind of like.....Nickelodeon's TMNT???? And Sonic's scarf...Nathan Drake???

It didn't matter to me at all. Knuckles however, just made me laugh. Look at the guy; he's been working out. Now he might have a chance with Rouge the Bat XD (uh-oh, here comes the fan-fics)

Honestly besides being disappointed in knuckle's new design, I don't think the other designs look that bad. They're kind of the same just with added stuff. I don't see why they had to change everything, I thought the character designs were fun as they were.
There hasn't really been a good sonic game in a while. Sonic Colors was my least favorite game in the world. I do like Sonic 2006, despite the many glitches and broken gameplay mechanics. It wasn't as bad as people made it out to be, it is actually my favorite Sonic game for storyline.
I haven't played Sonic Generations, but I've heard mixed feelings on that one.
Either way, I just feel like sonic has lost its charm over the years. Perhaps this new game will be something to look forward to. I'm willing to give it a chance, because it is sad that people are judging it before it even comes out.
